The Burr Farm Protected Open Space was purchased by the Town of Brookfield from the family of Lawrence and Helen Burr in 1999. It comprises 116 acres divided into East and West parcels, along the now unused eastern end of Lake George Road, which used to connect with Pond Brook Road in Newtown.
