The Military Health System (MHS) collects and shares a significant amount of information on performance across numerous measures for health outcomes, quality, safety, and access. We have always had information available about our health system, but it wasn't always easy to find or easy for people to understand without medical training. One of the recommendations made by the Review of the Military Health System in 2014 was to improve the way we make information on our system available to patients and the public. The Secretary of Defense directed that the MHS to co-locate a lot of our different performance reports into one location on Health.mil. Congress passed and the President signed the 2016 National Defense Authorization Act in November 2015 that further directed how to share information about our military health system. We will be improving this reporting tool over time, and urge you to contact us with feedback on how to make it easier for you to find.
