Dr. John Stewart is part of the Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Primary Care team. Dr. Stewart is board certified in internal medicine, he earned his medical degree from Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Stewart’s grandparents inspired him to become a doctor. His grandmother is a former nurse and his grandfather a doctor who was well-respected, kind and loved by his patients. He lived with them while in medical school and during these years developed a passion for caring for the older population and learned the complexities involved in their care. He practices a patient-centered philosophy. He believes in having extensive discussions with patients and their families about all available treatment options, always keeping the patient's best interest in mind. During his free time, Dr. Stewart enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He also likes fishing and playing golf.
