SLV Irrigation District - Home

San Luis Valley Irrigation District was organized December10, 1908 under the Irrigation Act of 1905, and is governed by a Board ofDirectors consisting of five elected members.The District headquarters are located in Saguache County,and the District comprises portions of Alamosa, Rio Grande, and SaguacheCounties. The Rio GrandeReservoir, located near the headwaters of the Rio Grande in HindsdaleCounty, is also owned and operated by the San Luis Valley Irrigation District.The purpose of the District is to provide storage anddistribution of irrigation water to landowners within the District boundaries.
